Waitangi  was the place the treaty was signed

Above or about 500 chiefs signed the treaty

It was signed in 1840

There are only 9 surviving

All the Maori chiefs were annoyed because maori had 8 and the pakeha had 1

Now the pakeha started wanting more land      

Guns and blankets were traded

Imbalance of power
